Standing Firm

Standing firm. When you hear these words, do not take it as a joke, but I want you to take it into consideration. When you are standing firm, you are not only standing firm physically but spiritually. When you are standing firm, stand firm in the faith. When you stand firm in the faith, God will always show up at the right time. I will talk about my God for a minute.

These past few days God has been blessing me. I was so worried about something and I ask God, how will I get this fulfilled? A few hours later he provided me with an answer to my prayer. I believe it was the week after that, where he double the blessing.

It was at that moment, where I realized that there is no need to worry because God will always show up at the right time. Of course, I already know this but what I want you all to understand from this is that when you stand firm in the faith your blessing is already the way. Stand firm in the faith by reading your Bible and studying his word day and night. Even though there are times when you do not feel like getting up in the morning to read the Bible, remember God still loves you. I know there are times when I do not want to get up in the morning to read but I know for a fact that if I want to receive my blessings, I will have to get up and read it.

Standing firm is not about showing people that you are but rather being strong, being alert, and loving. When you are standing firm in the faith, you are gaining strength. Standing firm, getting you prepared for when you are going through something. It is getting you ready to receive the blessings that you asked for in prayer. Most importantly, standing firm is helping you to hold onto the faith and do not let it go.

Be blessed!!!!!!

The Greatest Existence

Look around us. Wherever you are reading this, look around you. Look at yourself in the mirror when you wake up or whatever you are doing right now. You exist. Everything around you exists. Why is that? The greatest existence created us and everything.

The greatest existence of all is God. God created life. It is because of his existence that we are all here today. It is because of his existence that he saves you and you came out of that hospital or car accident alive. It is because of his grace and mercy that we exist. Something that I do not understand is how can people think that God does not exist. That is like saying you do not think that air exists. You can hear it when it comes on, but you cannot see it. It is the same thing with God. You can hear him but you cannot see him.

The only way to hear him is if you put in the work to get to know him and understand his word, just as much time you put in to go to the gym.

God existence is what makes us safe. The world we live in is corrupted, but that should not stop us or you from believing the existence of God. This world has nothing to do with the existence of God, but his existence has something to do with this world. We fail to realize that the greatest existence of God is what makes you, you. His existence is why we are living and breathing today and will continue to live. His existence is why we get up every day. We exist because He exists.

Drowning

Sometimes you find yourself drowning. Spiritually drowning, why? You have days where you are moving and focusing on things in your life. Your days are filled with meetings, doctors appointment, school, laundry, and other things.

You start to get that feeling like your drowning in a storm. Have you ever seen someone began to drown? They are gasping for air and they are freaking out because they are afraid of drowning. Your life is like the ocean, it is filled with everything. Imagine that you are swimming and everything is going well you know nice and smooth, but then a storm hits. You began to drown. You get so caught up in everything that goes on around you, you tend to forget about God. You are spiritually drowning because you go days without even acknowledging God. You are more focused on your schedule and stressing about school or something.

“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When fear comes knocking on your door, do not let in because then you will begin to drown.

In Luke 8:22-25, Jesus wanted to go on the other side of the lake. So Jesus and his disciples got into the boat and they set out. As they were out in the lake, a storm hit. The disciples were afraid and thought that they were going to drown. They went to Jesus and woke him up. Jesus calmed the storm.

I am telling you this story because sometimes we forget that when we feel like we are drowning in a storm, Jesus is always there. We are never too deep for God, he can go right under you and lift you up. Do not allow yourself to drown. Let Jesus be your boat.

Time to Heal

Most of us has been in a relationship or are in one right now. Sometimes when a couple breaks he or she does not give themselves time to heal. What do I mean by that? They are jumping from one relationship to the next and that can be unhealthy. Different emotions will build up such as: fear, unhappy, desperate, and deep pain. The question is how will they know when the right person comes along or what does real love feels like? Healing is the important part after breaking up because your heart is fragile like a glass. Give to the wrong person and it will shatter to pieces, but give it to the right person it will be restored. That joy you have never felt or that happiness will come.

Giving yourself time to heal will allow you to figure out what you do want and what you do not want. Also, in that process of healing you can build yourself up, (I will continue saying this because it is important!!) not only that, you will not be afraid to let the right person come in. Time to heal does not happen within a day because he or she has been with you for months or maybe years and for them to not be there anymore will have to just get use to it. Sometimes you jump into the next relationship because that person is a rebound or you are afraid of being alone. Let me tell you this it is okay to be single until and let yourself heal before the right person comes along. Just because you see your friends in a relationship does not mean you have to be in one as well. There is nothing wrong with being single. You have to let your heart heal.

Think about it for a second, what will happen if you allowed yourself to play hopscotch or jump in jump out? What I mean is going in and out of relationships. You will be an emotional wreck and then start to not trust people and say that you are alone. You are not alone, you are not letting people in because you did not eat yourself heal. One way to let your heart heal is forgiveness. Forgive them or apologize. No one should have to tell you so. You can move on but in that process of moving on it is healing. Do not go jumping into a relationship while you are healing and sometimes it is good to try something different. Stop rushing, when the time is right you will be happy.

IT IS TIME TO HEAL!!!!

Do Not Give up on Your Dreams!!!

We all have dreams and dreams do not die. Sometimes it is hard to pursue our dreams but we have to understand each dream, will help us bless someone. I am not talking about the dreams we have when we go to sleep but, the dreams of doing something.

For example, my dream is to write and bless people with my words. It is not easy building up to our dreams because we have so much problems and things going on in our live. Other times, we feel like we cannot go on any longer because we do not have that sense of inspiration or encouragement. We have to surround ourselves with people who will push us to keep going. People who believe in us, and help us to make it.

Most importantly, we have to believe in ourselves!! The way I see it, the lack of encouragement we have the less of a dream it becomes. When we believe in ourselves, we are telling ourselves that,

“I can do this. I can make this dream become a reality.I can help people with my dream.”

When we do not believe in ourselves we are losing the faith that we know that this dream will become a reality. Think about a dream that you have or currently pursuing, how often do you work towards that dream? Are you pushing the process of that dream back? Like holding things off that you know you should be working on? Dreams do not come into our minds for no reason. There is a reason and a purpose. We have to remember that our dream is not for our own pleasure, but to reach out to others in this world. We cannot give up on our dreams because we do not know who it can help.

Dreams are not easy, the path to making our dreams become a reality will be a bumpy, deep, hard path. The path will have some blessings in it as well and it is worth fighting for. It is worth overcoming those trials because one day our dreams and how we made it into a reality will help others with theirs. So, Do not give give up if you feel like giving up on your dreams. DO NOT!!!

Have a Blessed day!!!!!!

Two or Three Gathered

Matthew 18:20

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Last Sunday I taught this verse to the kids at my church as a devotion. I am not sure how I got on this verse because this was not my original plan. My original plan was to talk about Isaiah 6:9 which says, “For unto us a child is born. Unto us a son is given..”

I was not upset about it because God placed that verse on my heart. There was about maybe seven or ten kids usually there would be more than that. I believe this is how we got to this verse. So I went on explaining to them I did not have to wait for more kids to come to start the children’s service because God is already here with us.

You see people think they have to wait until more people show up to church or an event to get it going. NO. Understand that God is pleased with the worship that you give him as long as you are giving him your all and not just the leftovers. God does not need a football stadium full of people to give him the glory. You can be in your room and God is there.

One thing I do not get is why wait for more people to show up for something when the time is ticking. If people do not show up then they do not show. The important thing is that God is there in the midst of it all. Just like on a wedding day, the bride and the groom will not wait for people to come as long as the bride and groom show up.

I went on explaining to the children that it does not matter where you are on earth, you still can worship God. No matter how many people is there with you. Furthermore, I explained that they do not need a building to give God the glory you know why? Because we are the church. So the moral of this is, we are the church and whether one person show up or no one else. Do not be afraid to give God the glory because God is there with you. You do not have to wait until all the seats are filled with people. God will be pleased but do not give God your leftovers.

Courting

Courting is a relationship between a man and a woman, determining if it is in God’s will for them to marry. Courting is not the same as dating because when it comes to courting both the man and the woman are courtship involves goals and seeks help from parents, mentors, or someone that is married.

Courting avoids temptation. It sets boundaries between the two. Undersand that if you decide to court with a man or a woman. Now there are rules when it comes to courting, I will only talk about a few:

  1. The man initiates the courting. Just like a man pursues a woman, the woman should chase after the man. If a man feels like God is leading him to a specific woman then the man has to get permission from the father of the woman. Now I know that some guys would not do that.
  2. The couple should get to know each other families. Getting to know each other families. It is important to know each other families because you will need their support.
  3. Avoid defrauding. Do not stir up desires while you are courting because the temptations will come. Ladies when you are courting with a man dress modestly because the clothes that you wear can tempt a man. Guys no improper touching. Guard your heart.
  4. Accountability is important. Having mentors is important because they will help the couples stay on track. As I mentioned before the couple parents can be a mentor as the couple support team and guiding them.

Courting should be taken seriously and God needs to be first. I know some people that are courting and I believe that it is a great thing to do. Nowadays you would not hear a lot of people say that they are courting. In this generation it seems to be all about just jumping right into a relationship and then from then on going right into the next one, once that one is over. People do not really take time to really get to know someone. I mean there are some people who does take the time to know someone but it takes more than several weeks to get to really know someone.

Courting is different from dating. When you are courting you are typically dating but you are focused on that one particular man or woman. Also, the family is involved but when it comes to dating people secretly hide their relationship and there is no goals set. Courting is a step towards marriage. Remember that courting is a choice.

Being Used

No one likes being used especially when you are in a relationship. On one hand you have one person that loves and on the other hand one person is using the other for their personal gains. People get used for many things when it comes to a relationship, sometimes he or she doesn’t see it but other people do. There are signs that will tell you, if you are being used by the other person you are in a relationship with.

Finding out that your significant other or soulmate is using you is wrong. You wouldn’t have thought that he or she would do something like this to you but understand this there is no one that’s perfect on earth. People are bound to make mistakes but the same mistakes over and over again. That should tell you something. People do not like to be used by someone that they love. God uses his children, but in a good way of using his sons and daughters. He uses us for his work so that we can receive our reward which is in heaven.

One way that you can recognize if you are being used by someone is if they only come to you when they need a favor. All it takes is one favor then it is more likely to happen again and again but you can stop that. I will not talk about how to stop being used until later. Another way is you find yourself unable to say no to them. You feel like if you say no to them you will feel guilty. Do not feel guilty when you say no to them, your relationship should not be a one-sided relationship. There’s two people in the relationship not one, you cannot date yourself.

Stop letting your significant other drag you back into meeting their needs. What about your needs? If they care about you then why do you feel uncomfortable? Why do you find yourself unable to say no to them? Why is it that they only check up on you when they need something from you? There are times when you have to put your foot down. You are not his wife and you are not her husband!!

Now, there are ways to stop being used when you are in a relationship. Learn to say no, be courteous, and worry about your needs if you have a project or bills to pay for let them know that you can’t do them a favor. God will not send you he or she to use you. If you think he or she is the right one think again and ask yourself, ” Will God send me he or she to use me?” The answer is no because God knows the desires of your heart. (Psalms 37:4) It’s okay to say no, do not be afraid of the word no. Stop allowing yourself to be used.

KNOW YOUR WORTH!!!

Reaching Out to the Hopeless

As the days go by time is running out. As a believer in Christ it is our responsibility to reach out to those who doesn’t know Christ. We cannot hold the knowledge that we learn from the Bible to ourselves. The question is what is holding you back from doing God’s will? Which is reaching out to the hopeless. God placed us on this earth to do his will after all we are just passing through.

Ask yourself this question: how can you impress God? Surely not by joining every single ministry in church nor attending church every Sunday and Bible study. These things does not impress God but taking what you have been taught and leading others to Christ does. Soon this earth will be no more and calling on his name does not mean anything.

Matthew 7:24 says, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

Basically, God’s word is our foundation, as believers, we need to evangelize to the unbelievers. Reaching out to the hopeless will impress God. I am a praise dancer and I know being part of this ministry will not let me hear the words “well done” from God himself. It’s teaching others about Christ and not letting them go astray like lost sheep in the pastures. We cannot save ourselves, it’s time that we step out of our comfort zones and step out on faith to help others. Earth will pass away and we have to do our part. Christ already did his and that’s saving us by dying for us. So, with that being said do not be afraid to go out of your comfort zone to do God’s will. Eventually, God will take you out of your comfort zone. Be blessed everyone.

Dear God,

I lift up to you those who are afraid to step out of their comfort zones to reach out to the hopeless. Lord I ask that you remove the spirit of fear that is within them so that they can go out and make disciples. Give them a humble a spirit to go out of their comfort zones.

In Jesus name I Pray

Amen.

Come Alive

When you think of the words, ‘come alive,’ what do you think of? A valley of dry bones? Someone coming back from the dead? Or maybe someone trying to come back from an emotional, physical, mental pain.

Let’s go back to Ezekiel 37:1-14, where the Prophet Ezekiel prophesied to the valley of dry bones. He had a vision of a valley filled with dry bones and God told him to prophesy to the bones. As he did what God commanded him to do the bones began to shake. Imagine that. You having a vision and you see dry bones everywhere. Just imagine being in Ezekiel shoes and what he must have felt when that happened.

The dry bones were the people of Israel, God spoke life into them and brought them back to their land. this chapter is God’s future restoration of Israel. Take this event and I would say compare it to a situation where you were broken down or dry bones. Then someone prophesies to you, telling you that what God said will happen. In order for that to happen, you have to come alive. Just like it was God’s future to restore Israel, It’s his future to restore your life again.

God spoke life back into the dry bones so why can’t you let him do the same in your life? Every day you try to fight and live through it all but you cannot handle all of it. Ezekiel would not know what to say if he did not have God on his side. The dry bones did not come alive again on their own, no, by God’s command through the Prophet Ezekiel they came alive. I know that some of you may be going through things but don’t you think it’s time for you to come alive again. Finish what God has planned for you even when you starting to become dry bones.

It’s amazing to read about God’s miraculous wonders and to experience them in our lives. God wants the dead hearts to come alive again, he does not want to see what he has created gone to waste. God cares enough for us to not give up on living, to not be like the dry bones in the valley. I pray that each and every one of you come alive again. As in the words of Lauren Daigle,

”As we call out to dry bones come alive, come alive

We call out to dead hearts come alive, come alive

Out of the ashes, we see an army rise

We call out to dry bones come alive.”

Live life again no matter what. Do not be just bones, let God speak life into you again. Be blessed everyone!!!!!!
